Solar powered units are a nice touch. Always ready for use, no battery in the most inopportune moment give up the ghost, there is no stockpiling of batteries necessary so that no follow-up costs and the environment, it is also beneficial. Plenty of reasons therefore to opt for a solar scale. The reviewed on here Beurer Libra comes with simple, extremely flat shape and original design therefore, has 29 x 33.5 x 2 cm a handy size and a pleasant, not too heavy, yet stable acting weight and adapts to almost any style and any bathroom color. The first start-up in daylight is simple: Device just keep it short the light or ask to wait a little while and let's go. The weight display is a 100-gram division more accurately than with conventional mechanical scales. That, as here criticized by some reviewers, occur slightly different results in repeated weighing, my experience is to present on scales with digital display in the nature of things, since a sometimes more, sometimes less "peppy" enter not as mechanical scales will be balanced by a longer "pendulum swing", but only one immediate indication occurs. One should not ignore the fact that the deviations (more than a few 100 grams with me) but are in a magnitude that is on a commercially available mechanical scales with kilogram wise classification, where you accordingly anyway no more accurate than in 500-gram one can read steps, also not better riff. As significantly more problematic, I feel the required light supply. In the item description indicates that already 15 lux are sufficient for the operation of the scale; I doubt this. In my really bright bathroom with large window, the display designed in an opposite corner of the window is already a bit difficult in the shade of tub and toilet, and the balance must be pulled out for use. In artificial light (with me completely "normal", ie adequate but not floodlight-like lighting), the scale must be placed practically right under the lamp and shows yet somewhat delayed and cumbersome to. The lighting conditions at the desired approved location should be considered so essential in the buying decision! It is further noted that the scale due to their extremely flat feet only on slippery surfaces, and not on carpet or carpets, works. The reading field is about 3.5 x 8 cm a good size, the maximum load capacity is 150 kg.
Conclusion: okay for owners of natural daylight or very brightly lit bathrooms, all others I can recommend, unfortunately, only very limited device.
