The last album "The nature is your enemy" was the first step in this direction. Then the head Egotronic gathered a full band around and live got one already rearranged, carved rocking versions of old Klopper around the ears.
And now there's "C'est Moi". A kind of best of album of the exceptional band. However, the songs were recorded entirely new. In band Instrumentation and in the new punk / rock arrangements.
One can certainly argue about the song selection. I would have chosen other songs sometimes, but since everyone has their own preferences sure ...
Does the new Egotronic sound? Definitely yes! The fans of the old panels and old sounds could indeed come to complain, but to these diehards can whistle confidently. Egotronic have just evolved. Stagnation is death!
Especially the very early songs like "export culture", "From Nothing How" Möllewahn "or" mushrooms "work with a new look excellent. Their squeaky C-64 sounds I personally found namely always a bit annoying ...
But later songs and especially the classic scene and hit "Raven against Germany" make genuine Bock!
"C'est Moi!" comes in digipack with a booklet (English) liner notes to the songs of Torsun himself. If you hold the front cover of digipacks the right light, you can see on the matte board a transparent Stinkefinger glossy. Looks classy and is for me a cool detail, I like something ...
And who the heck buy? Egotronic fans, those who live liked the new course and the new versions. And newcomers, which the band has always been to techno moderately.
And one more thing: Punk is this drive only from the basic setting forth. Egotronic have with "C'est Moi!" something very own created. Clearly, there is punk / rock elements, but the old electro sounds are still present (thanks to Kilian!). I do not really think of any band that sounds so.
The one point deduction way, there is only because I had been looking forward even more about a completely new album. Otherwise, a clear 5 star candidate!
