I have ordered the stand as a reading aid. In nature it looks even better, the processing of the wood is very good and also the often criticized hinges are clean fitted smoothly and the screws are sunk flush. This is not so easy in the relatively small hinges. I use the stand only for magazines, with heavy books paired with frequent leaves is quite conceivable that the hinges can be forgiven after some time. Who seeks this use, however, can use larger hinges from the hardware store for little money, then the stand is stable and still unbeatably cheap. With small inconspicuous felt pads of tough bamboo leaves on solid wood tabletops no scratches. Overall, a great product, and "species-appropriate" when using my full recommendation.
