'Revenge of the Snake Prince' is one of the shorter radio plays of the series, which has a very positive effect. The narrative tempo is high, the tension thereby firming and dramaturgy broadly succeeded: The ease of daily life is broken eternischen equal, and the Master start at the bottom, fall to the bottom and allowed to fight again upwards. Only the finale is somewhat clumsy and goes too quickly.
What bothers are as usual the massive logic error. The series has never yet received internal logic, but the errors are even extreme for Masters Hörspiel level: If Adam next time turns on a balcony, he should perhaps before that send out Orko with an announcement that it noticed all , Speaking announcement: Skeletor should get into the habit, He-Man to teach about abductions when he wants something from him, otherwise the Masters go someday the visions / dreams / info from Zoar, and then he can wait a long time. Where Teela appears at the Snake Pit, remains unanswered, as does the question of why Kobra Khan his snakes do not rush to He-Man, although there Skeletor's command and their own desires overlap. The Snake Pit as secure storage for He-Man and looking at his friends, is a daring theory, if Orko is who can beam at will. Its capabilities seem to be limited, however: In order to fix the Conjured rope ladder, it needs Man-at-Arms, who apparently also built an extension, because initially the ladder was too short, and how he manages that Battle Cat use can remain open.
The figures are not well taken: Man-at-Arms, in fact one of the wiser heads of the Masters, familiar a total stranger and told no one where he's going. Skeletor, one of the wiser heads on the side of evil and brilliant inventor and engineer, a saying goes in the wrong, he knows for 19 episodes. Teela's timid supplication before the snake pit does not fit her, and when otherwise distanced Webstor one is afraid that he has a heart attack with joy. The only person who comes up perfectly in his role, is Orko, who runs his overconfidence in such a charming way that he seems happy-naive, but not annoying.
Artisan is a result slightly weaker than the previous one. There is a nasty cut error: In the first scene before Grayskull the Monster Fighters in the background like the unarmed He-Man would distribute the clearly belongs to the second scene. When appointing one was not particularly adept: With Douglas Welbat and Eckart Dux use two Masters strain spokesman as eternische population, a little confused. Totally miscast is Franz Josef Steffens, the artist formerly known as Spare Skeletor (Part 5), as Mantenna. Who came up with the idea that fits Steffens' deep, scratchy voice for insektigen Mantenna occupying even Kermit the Frog with Isaac Hayes or Donald Arthur. Despite miscast Steffens does its job but excellent in direct comparison he speaks Hordak scouts much less aggressive, but mocking. Jörg Gillner manages Kobra Khan represent serpent nature and treachery without letting act the snake prince ridiculous, and although some emotions do not want to adapt to Teela, Monika Gabriel manages but they all bring over credible especially her 'I'm fighting on your side 'remains in the ear.
The spokesman did not not listed here bring the same outstanding performance as in the other episodes.
Evaluate 'Revenge of the Snake Prince' is not easy, because it remains the same problems, the listener as' Cave of Secrets (Episode 5) or 'doppelganger' (Part 7): It has been an exciting story about which one but must not think, because otherwise breaking apart the plot. At the same sequence 20 is much funnier than the other two mentioned effects by the unintentional comedy, but does not reach this level of 'Skeletor's Victory' (Episode 13).
The evaluation therefore depends on what you expect as a listener: As a serious radio play two stars would be almost too much; as equivalent to the Popcorn cinema, exciting entertainment so without thinking, would be three to four star loose inside and a trashy comedy radio play four star. After consultation with Zodak who makes every effort to cosmic balance, so three stars are awarded collectively.
