not so brilliant as the Voränger. I'm torn: The Colour and the Shape is by far my favorite album. This one starts very promising, as if it wanted to tie directly to the predecessor. Stacked Actors and breakout rock just going on as before Monkey Wrench that at Learn to Fly and Gimme stitch a little stepping on the brake could also still accept, if it does not continue to go with generator and Aurora. Generator is live an exciting piece, the studio version I find rather a bit tough, the spark will not entirely skip (probably lie in this trendy Peter Frampton-effect device that disturbs me a bit). Aurora can be as much relaxing on this album with the words, emotional or even describe 'ballad'. And that bothers me a bit: After the first five tracks only follow cuts in which creamy (but quite nice) melodies predominate and there is a lack of fast-paced pieces, there is virtually no longer rocked (which actually fixed this band was connected / is). Thus, the plate has got a little one-sided, and pieces like Headwires or Live-in skin somehow leave no lasting impression, even if they fit well with the rest. Despite all this, has become a good album there is nothing left to lose. One must also honor the Foos have not plagiarized himself, it does not have any album as the previous sound. But a little more pressure hätts now and again may be. Oh never mind that. 5 stars because this album is one in spite of his (little) weakness of my absolute favorites. Anspieltips: Learn to fly (if not already well known), Breakout, MIA.
