The establishment of a connection to my home network via Wi-Fi from the TV out is very easy. I have two ways to start one of my films: 1. Right-winded review of all of my many films. 2. Quickly find a film on the displayed file structure of KODI-media center. The films are also reproduced smoothly.
In order to get times as needed something from the television, I use DVB-T with a homemade antenna to the: cnet. de / 41001557 / the-best-home-built DVB-T antenna dual quad-for-5-euro-tinker / - very good reception and very inexpensive.
The task of the missing power switch accepts a plug switch which completely disconnect the TV from the mains and prevent unnecessary power consumption; the settings are retained even after the TV.
I do not need the rest of the possibilities of this very well-equipped television, although everything would be reached via WLAN.
Although provided for my purpose with far too much functionality, it is overall a great and recommendable television. And he was priced on 21/04/2015 at 329.99 also absolutely alright.
Update:
Meanwhile, I found that the power consumption in standby is only 0.2W, so I removed the plug switch again. The wireless connection to my server is now no longer runs on the WLAN USB stick on Raspberry, but over the wireless connection to my Fritz box. Then so I could easily block the entire Internet for the TV and prevent uncontrolled data snooping by LG on unneeded by me smart TV functions safely.
