Customer Review

Maybe not the best of Spinrad sure but, not being a géopolotique specialist, this book has tickled my curiosity about the issues it raises.

To bounce on the previous comment, the hero is so unfriendly and loose but it is a antihero! Sprinrad not trying to make it appealing and manages to avoid too Manichean vision of terrorism (while condemning still careful!). Also, the rantings of Spinrad may ultimately not be so farfetched as Nigeria rocking right now in the civil war of religion as in the story.

It takes just the same as the portrait of the "Muslim community in France" is a bit exaggerated but it is interesting to have the views of Norman Spinrad, American living in Paris, on the foreign policy of his country of origin and the integration of Muslims in France.

For entertainment, the story is well constructed and holds the reader spellbound with a surprising end, despite a dip inevitable in Spinrad (including part of the story takes place in Nigeria).
