Pastoral tragedy

Tess of the d'Urbervilles (Paperback)

Customer Review

Brilliant novel that goes to the essential, "Tess" is lost in a primary sentimentality fortunately thanks to its high symbolism of nature with bright paintings of Wessex. Dotted with dialogues - why it reads very quickly - the plot breathes too wait horizons feelings and emotions, which may seem annoying, especially today when the silliness of Tess and his brother Prince Charming irritate . A beautiful story, concise and starry, with a naturalistic vein that aims to criticize society "austere" English in the second half of the nineteenth century. The fate of this woman, Tess, is a fictionalized tragedy with purity.
