Customer Review

Many claim the resulting trend in recent years to mix electronic music with Swing from 20-40 years would already maxed out. The new album Panic of Paris Formation Caravan Palace is an argument against such a statement for me.
After her debut in 2008 titled Caravan Palace were in the following years, no new release, you can see on the single release Suzy. This even made it to the French, Swiss and Belgian charts.
The formation was on tour a lot and earned itself an excellent reputation as a live band while they inspired a diverse audience from the electrical to the jazz fan. Last but not least came the musically sophisticated style of the band on the Django Reinhaedt Jazz Festival in Samois-sur-Seine on very well received. After four years, the band now comes up trumps with its well-compiled, comprehensive 14 titles second album. It appeared in 2012 on the label Café de la Dance and is available on CD, MP3 and vinyl.
Musically, the band aimed to be strong for the Swing of the 30's, but remains same time close to contemporary electronic sounds and beats. There are titles representing that fit into the ambiance of a coffee house while others are made for the club. The title Panic looks great in a House set against pieces like Glory of Nelly are rather downtempo. Tension and atmosphere of the roaring '20s go throughout the album is not lost.
The probability is close to here a band has found which are also cast their third album with flying colors on the market without subside musically.
I have been re-infected with this new album with the groove of Swing! From that same band that with this sound inspired me years ago for the first time.
