Too short (the plug 61 cm incl.) ME is not the cable. I can put the hard drive in the tower case and reach the cable easily the socket of the interface card.
On meime PC I have upgraded a USB3 interface card from MSI, there I do not need the additional USB2 connector (for more power). Even on my netbook from Samsung external hard drive running without this additional connector. Addendum: at a Dell 6510 laptop does not also.
During data transmission LED flashes blue on top - both on USB 3.0 as well as on USB 2.0! The fact that the LED on USB 2.0 should look orange, I can not confirm.
2. Speed
With h2testw V1.4 I get a write rate of 73 MB / s and a read rate of 75 MB / s. HD Tune 2:55 announces a max. Transfer rate of 106 MB / s, minimum 53 MB / s and 86 MB / s as the average. Access rate 17 ms. An Error Scan I have to be carried out by HD Tune also the same, but then it takes 2 hours to detect any errors.
Under USB 2.0 comes h2testw to 20 MB / s - both on my netbook and the Dell notebook ..
3. Temperature
With such a test session, the rubber sheath is heated to 37 degrees, CrystalDiskInfo announces 40 degrees plate temperature. Plate can not be heard at normal Umgebungsgeräsuchen.
