I have already tested the following lamps:
- Philips Blue Vision
- Cheap brand of real market
- MTEC
The Philips lamps are not bad, but is still a slight yellow tinge to see, and for that they are simply too expensive.
The cheap brand of real market is fully comparable with the Philips Blue Vision. One might think that it is the same lamp, only cheaper by half.
The MTEC are the whitest to date. However, they do not light excessively bright or far, as you can read in the reviews.
I had bought at the same time with these lamps the MTEC, and could well compare therefore both. The MTEC I built into the left headlamp, this one in the right. And I must say, I'm really excited! You are as white as the MTEC lights, but lights visible light. And for about half the price.
Unfortunately I can not tell anything about longevity, but about one should at the price actually lose nothing, but simply appreciate the white light and, if times a breaks down, just order a new one.
In this sense: Have a good trip!
---------- ---------- UPDATE 08/08/2014
After more than two months and almost daily evening / night trips the lamps still as white as the day. I have in the meantime also uploaded an image, on the one. The difference between ordinary lamps and these clearly recognizes So I can not understand at one of the 2-star rating. Look at my picture under "customer images" calm and makes you yourself :) It was not edited or whatever.
---------- ---------- UPDATE 01/11/2015
After been over 7 months, my lights are still like the first day. I'm still completely convinced. However, some negative reviews have accumulated in that time, what I wanted to write something. I find that some but understate much in terms of bright lights. Of course it is not the "ne plus ultra" of brightness, but they do not light up and you go needs a night vision goggles (so it really comes down to me in some reviews before), not true at all.
In general, one should ask the question in advance, but what you want to use the lamps: low beam or main beam? When you drive because with low beam? But only if other light sources illuminate the road (street lights in the village, oncoming vehicles on the highway, overhead lighting in the tunnel, etc.). And for these lamps are in any case more than enough.
How to beat the lights as high beam, I can not judge, because for the main beam I Standard Philips lamps in it, but:
Everyone that stacks up to such lamps, should know that the xenon effect (blue coat) reduces the luminosity yet. One can not expect to get with this lamp has the same point of view, such as with a "X-treme Vision", while the same light color as a real xenon. And with this knowledge, you should consider whether resorting for main beam on another lamp. Because it is so: If I want to install me a lamp with Xenon effect, I'm doing probably just about the look. And the main beam I have to only when I meet no one (should be at least so). So my main beam looks really nobody. What then the xenon effect when high beam?
So I think you can do without the high beam on the xenon effect and look forward to the passing beam over. The fact that the xenon effect in these lamps is relatively well available, is indeed unquestionable.
If you drive a vehicle, are united in the high and low beam in a lamp, you have probably a compromise: either great look, but impaired vision. Or bad optics, but great view.
