Kung Fu Panda (Audio CD)

Customer Review

One of the films that I expected at least one of the greatest scores 2008 was definitely "Kung Fu Panda"! A really funny, cool and action-packed film. And there is just as funny, cool, action-packed and especially beautiful music: Responsible are here for Hans Zimmer and John Powell, where we but clearly hears who is involved at what points. Overall I would say Powell has 80% and 20% room.

The soundtrack begins with an upbeat and cool piece of "Hero", where the orchestra is equal times what it draufhat. Here is also introduced the first theme of the title hero Po: A wonderful mix of Asian sounds and a pleasant tune to whistle along. The next topic is to be found in "Tai Lung Escapes", a 7 minute Powertrack! The wonderful music for the evil villain is absolutely gorgeous and is repeatedly varied on the CD. Here also electronic percussions come (Mr rooms of course) to light that will fit very well to the character of Tai Lung.
Then there's the "Oogwaythema" (I call it this way), the probably the most beautiful and striking in the score. The best there is in "Sacred Pool Of Tears" to the fore. Eben-called track is actually the perfect out tip because a 9-minute one gets a wonderful mixture of all the elements of the soundtrack. And besides, it includes one of the best passages and indeed the beginning, when Po is trained by Shifu (goosebumps !!!). Shifu also gets a dramatic, tragic issue which also repeatedly comes into play in the score (especially again in 'Sacred Pool Of Tears ").
But here is not the end, because after the witty "Training Po" followed by two brutal action title that "... Sacred Pool" my favorites are for: "The Bridge" is just strong because the Tai Lung issue with the Oogwaythema harmonises perfectly and simultaneously accompanied these daredevil fight.
Then follows "Shifu Faces Tai Lung", where the Tai Lung breaks subject to the absolute climax with a brute choir version.
With "Po vs Tai Lung" you go to the finals, when the Po theme is transferred to a wonderful fanfare, glorious.
And finally, after the beautiful "Oogway Ascends" (the OOgwaythema in all its glory) we hear a new interpretation of the classic "Kung Fu Fighting", sung by Carl Douglas and Jack Black, who is in my opinion very nice but a bit too short. ..

The great thing about this Powercore is that he missed the bright and witty film the necessary depth and seriousness. And even without the soundtrack film works terrific, thanks to the colorful and powerful themes!
In an hour of music you get (almost) commanded the entire score and as I said: "Kung Fu Panda" is by far one of the best soundtracks in 2008, because he has no lengths for me and really is each title audible. A wonderful film music, on its continuation I am looking forward!
