Downright enthusiasm sparked the message from me that John Powell would sound to the continuation of the "Bourne Identity". Now is the result - "The Bourne Supremacy", in German "The Bourne Supremacy" - on a Varese-shekel before, with 45 minutes ScorePlus Moby "Extreme Ways" (which, incidentally, a surprisingly fitting conclusion to the CD form) somewhat shorter, but far worse than the predecessor is advised. Powell takes over here, although some themes and elements from its predecessor, but showing that these same are an essential part of the Bourne character. Thus emerged the string theme well again as the oboe theme (the latter only briefly). Both are removed during the new score, wonderful melodies. Elements such as the "Hotel Regina" rhythm and the "Treadstone Assassins" package also reappear, but wonderful new instrumentation and out work and supplemented by a number of new, wonderful elements and ideas. For those who do not know the predecessors: "The Bourne Supremacy" provides the orchestral sound of the Hollywood Studio Symphony, coupled with excessive, diverse and varied rhythms, guitars played by Powell himself and George Doering and everything the modern studio technology to effects, percussions and has to offer synth sounds. The whole mixed well versed gives a hectic times, sometimes quiet or even atmospheric and definitely rousing score enjoyment which seamlessly connects qualitätiv to his predecessor. Ergo: "The Bourne Supremacy" is exciting action thriller music with absolute highlights like "Goa" (sounds somehow after Flamenco), "New Memories" (the Bourne typical oboe plays a major issue), "Bim Bam Smash" (brilliant musical increase running) and "Atonement" (wonderfully tranquil version of the main theme) and with European flair. You will never be bored and consistently offers interesting elements and sounds. Powell's music beats with the times, is for me the best that it has to offer the current film music scene. An absolute must for fans and open-minded music lovers.
