What in my ears, however, was able to convince completely, is the truly successful score written by Marco Beltrami ("I, Robot").
The opener "Driven" is a pleasure of a special kind: Energetic, rhythm driven, melodic and provided with an almost longingly plaintive female voice he brings here the mixture of the film from a tragic love story, the resulting desire for revenge and the hunt for those responsible Psychopaths perfectly to the point.
And these ingredients remain throughout Score: beautiful melodies alternate with nervenzerrenden moments that reflect the mental tension of the "good" protagonists and bring the disturbing world and point of view of the killer musical expression.
All this is presented in an electronically processed and sometimes distorted sound, for the Buck Sanders is co-responsible, with the Beltrami together years later the magnificent score for the Mark-Wahlberg Film Noir Firecracker "Max Payne" (see my local review) Write and just perfecting this sound would ....
One should not be fooled by the brevity of each track and its sometimes humorous titles such as "Keanuvision" (Track 3) is - here awaits the inclined listener knotless psychological thriller score, which is worth the money !!!!
And Beltrami allows even the artifice musical with good knowledge that the good has triumphed to send us at the end of "home": Its beautiful, almost out of place acting "Ghost Waltz" (Track 24) provides just the right amount of redemption after so much thrill ....
"The Watcher" by Marco Beltrami:
A real recommendation !!!!
