The system camera I had put on me because I was not convinced the performance of compact cameras, but I wanted to lug around any of the bulky SLR cameras on the other side. This expectation was fully met and I could also see how the owners of SLR interested for this compact camera. The swiveling large display is certainly one of the great advantages of the camera. On one hand, you can take pictures from unusual angle. On the other hand, I have always found even in bright sunlight a position where I could see well enough the display. After several months of use it has incorporated into most of the menu somewhat and can use the possibilities of the camera well. For me, I often take pictures sometimes propelled railways, it was also important that the camera works fast. I was not disappointed here. Two things I'm not completely happy: On the one hand this is the position of the trigger for video recording, which can be unfortunately easily operated by mistake when handling. The second relates to the supplied lens (M Zuiko Digital 14-42 mm). The price of the compact design is obviously a complicated mechanism - in increasing the focal length of the lens extends a first, then back out. And when reversing the direction of movement it hooks easily. That's when photographing no problem at all, but probably when shooting movies. Nevertheless, I am in total with my PL5 (for the meantime I have yet acquired a telephoto lens) very pleased, and I am happy to finally have for years with compact cameras a real camera with all the possibilities.
