Shipping and packaging:
- Amazon typically ordered last Thursday and receive Saturday mornings, great as always!
- The board of Cosmo is high-quality as its predecessors and has a resealable magnetic closure. The inside was very tidy, under the tablet in boxed sheet were still in addition a quick start guide (which I think is completely sufficient for start-up) as well as connection and power cord.
Processing:
- In contrast to the Loox about is the housing of the Cosmo plastic, however, this is very well made and also makes a very sophisticated look. There are the power switch, the no slide switch, but a simple button this time is that you have to hold down on the left side. He also serves on the key lock.
- An innovation of Cosmo: There is no typical Android buttons for "Home" and "Back", this the volume up / down buttons have to be hold. This is unusual, but after a while one lives on.
- The screen is also made of plastic and is covered with a protective sheath for delivery. Simple, but very functional and quality even without complaints.
Technical Details:
- On the Cosmo runs (as previously discussed) Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However Odys has missed the device has its own user interface that closely aligned on Honeycomb. Accordingly designed are menu navigation and operation.
- Operation of the touches running very smoothly and accurately. The system with its Cortex A8 processor works very drafty and equipment rarely falters, if you have too many applications running at the same time. Here, the 1GB large RAM is clearly noticeable, so the Cosmo also much smoother running than the Loox or XPress under full load.
- With 1024 * 600 pixels, therefore the tablet comes. The picture quality is good overall, but the price range is not nearly due to AMOLED or similar ran.
- The wireless reception here on the university campus is surprisingly good. The Cosmo recognizes our network, even though the internet is far more than 100m. The speed is also good.
- Apps and Games work consistently liquid. It should however be noted that a lot of games (such as "Dragon Fly") have not been adjusted programmatically to the size of tablets, which is why it similar here in graphical corruption can come. However, this is due to the developers and by no means the Cosmo
- Also liquid running EBooks and FullHD movies of all kinds especially as an eBook reader to please the Cosmo white due to the good contrast.. With larger PDF files, he has also no problems.
- The camera on the front has VGA resolution and is my (subjective) opinion überflüsig because Odys still has problems to support video telephony.
- The battery life is on stand-by at about 3 days max, under full load with WLAN at about six to eight hours.. Thus, the Cosmo moved here also in midfield.
Conclusion:
For 200 obtained by Odys a very good entry level tablet in large format that leads all the important functions that has to lead it. The functionality corresponds fully to what I put on this piece. That's why it also gets five out of five stars.

Update (10/05/12)
Meanwhile, the ICS update is on the tablet and I can only say: Chapeau, Odys! System processes run almost continuously liquid, the Tab spackt significantly less than they were under Gingerbread and all teething problems seem to be solved. Even the sometimes rather weak Wi feels twice as fast since the update.
Of course, one must say that the Cosmo in the range of sophisticated 3D applications can the leading brands hold a candle, but that's not the claim. As a solid work platform for the university, eBooks, surfing and smaller games Cosmo more power than ever solid figure and copes brilliantly everyday. What is missing is a custom-fit Aufstelltasche for 10-incher in the 16: 10 format and everything would cup :)
