The device is - as usual with flat panel TVs - securely packed in a carton with matching styrofoam inserts.
At first glance, the Samsung makes a high-quality impression, everything is handled properly. Despite its size, it is pleasantly light. The foot is mounted even without looking into (lousy) manual within 5 minutes, 4 screws must be sunk for this purpose. There is no antenna cable, so if you replace any existing TV, you must purchase one separately. To test, I plugged an existing CI + module including proper cable Germany smartcard. For the remote control well quality batteries are included as expected. The initial installation is also simple lay out of hand, here you simply follow the instructions on the TV. It can be reliably searched and set up (in my case, digital and analog cable, including the corresponding radio station) all stations. The transmitter can then move comfortably through the menu and adjust as desired. In general, all settings are quite comfortable and self-explanatory about the brisk menus make.
The picture is - as might be expected from Samsung differently - excellent. No dead pixels, very good and sharp contrast, no wipe, for example in soccer, fast switching even with HD channels. DVB-T (with additionally required, an external antenna) as the source manifests the first impression. The sound is typical for flat screen TVs - no outliers up or down. Demanding have here is a soundbar or similar retrofit. A crackle as in other reviews to read I can not confirm!
As already mentioned, no program can on the available USB port are recorded to external media (PVR). Existing movies, pictures or music, however, can be played. In test mode, two 2.5-inch hard drives (Western Digital, Intenso) and a USB flash drive (SanDisk) were easily detected. All films were tested properly. According to the manufacturer the following video formats are supported: AVI, MKV, ASF, MP4, 3GP, VOR, VOB, PS, TS, DivX 3.11 / 4/5/6, MPEG4 SP / ASP, H.264 BP / MP / HP, Motion JPEG , Microsoft MPEG-4 v3, Window Media Video v7, v8, v9, MPEG2, MPEG1.
No surprise at the existing connections: HDMI (2x), antenna, USB, Scart, digital audio output, YPbPr and CVBS. This is in this form standard and should be sufficient for most.
Conclusion: Those who take in equipping purchase restrictions (PVR, Smart TV, 3D) gets for a decent price / performance ratio very good TV! Nevertheless, I forgive only 4 stars because devices with Smart TV and / or PVR actually are no longer appropriate.
