The built-in microphone also does not convince me really. The sound is blechig and noisy and no comparison to my USB Micro. For occasional Skype conferences, it is sufficient, but good sound is something else.
Also rather bad I evaluate the software Microsoft LifeCam. The surface is therefore stylish but interesting settings like auto focus are hiding in ugly submenus. There is also an important function as self-timer is not - so that after 3s a picture is shot, so you do not necessarily must have one hand on the mouse with self-portraits. The software was allegedly not been updated since 2010 also. As I would have expected more from Microsoft.
