I already have 6 IP cameras Foscam FI8910W type or EasyN (largely identical) are the filters in use all SD (max. 640x480 pixels) and without IR-Cut. Meanwhile, I have thus been experimenting a lot and tried many different firmwares, so I know myself very well now so out. My Cameras all run with Foscam firmware (also EasyN models) and works very well. Mostly I use the IPcam Viewer from the Android Tablet or Phone, but sometimes the browser on your PC. Everything works fine. The cameras are always accessible from inside and outside, the image reproduction is usually afloat. The picture is fine, but of course, not very sharp and detailed and the colors are slightly distorted. So far, I meant that arrived.
Now the actual review:
Now I wanted to see what the HD cams can and have decided on a Foscam FI9826W. The price is easy when
Twice the SD cams. First I played a last firmware from 14:05:14. Then I went to the Taste.
My first impression was - sensational!
Image Quality:
Between the image of the old SD-cams and the new HD in 920P are worlds. If you look at the images side by side, one from the SD image is downright evil. The HD picture is impressive not only in resolution and sharpness but also in color fastness, contrast and detail. Absolutely outstanding and if there was nothing to complain about in the network performance, standing here now a thick buy recommendation. Unfortunately, but this is not so.
Playback and network performance
It is no less than to a wireless-N enabled camera (up to 300 Mbit / s), according to the box interface with 150 Mbit / s is connected to my Fritz box 6360. If you use the browser interface in IE running the Cam at the highest quality (920P, bitrate 4M)
liquid, on 2M and 1M but really optimal. The image hardly suffers.
One can hold so that the bandwidth is sufficient for me fully wireless for streaming images!
But this unfortunately only through the browser. By using more than IPcam Viewer in WLAN (from inside and out), the image increased extremely. Only to see still images. On PTZ commands the Cam reacts extremely sluggish. So the whole thing can not be operated.
To test I screwed the image quality to minimum order missing bandwidth in wireless exclude (320x180, 20K bit rate), which is far less than my need SD cams. Since it can not go wrong then. Unfortunately, the same lousy performance.
Update: I solved it by now I have found IP Cam Viewer to another model (9821 v2) and Channel 4 ceased and now I use LAN over Power Line. Since then, it's quite good.
Conclusion:
The picture quality is great, but I would only recommend buying when the cam is to be used via a browser.
On tablet or smartphone is not as smooth. Maybe that will resolve in the future a new firmware but.
