prime economical GBit Switch

The Netgear Gigabit Switch GS108 I've always liked, he has a rugged metal housing, is
fan and quite small, but he had earlier an unacceptable power consumption. In the
Spring (2009) Netgear then new versions (v3) with energy-saving features (adaptation to the
Cable length, disabling the inactive ports) presented, so that I could order.
I have after the arrival of the switches then also launched a metering and lay with
5 active ports (two with GBit) at about 3 W, which is less than my old 8 Port 10/100
Switch (5 W). That's very good, other Gbit switches which I had to test were partially
more than 10 W.

The switching characteristics there is not much to say, the devices offer the Promised
and do not differ (at least I could not tell the difference).
