The CLX-3305FW multifunction device is good overall. Compared to other providers in a similar price category, it is compact and therefore well be set up in the home office. The functions and the print quality is good according to the price range. The supplied software is not more than medium quality, but except for the occasional look at the level of the toner it is not needed anyway.
When building I was initially very disappointed because it turned out that in operation (A4 paper) stands out the paper drawer permanently. The product images here suggest that it is a closed printer, as would normally be used him only in larger and more expensive models. However, this is not so, on the last picture you can stand out the drawer slightly (with A4 paper 9 cm) - I thought this is how the open scan area of illustration only. The printouts project laterally slightly out of the device, just copy and scan range remain within the external dimensions of the device. Therefore, the unit of mine just gets 4 instead of 5 stars.
Setting up the wireless network access was a week-long ordeal. Samsung Support was completely unable to help. Ever When setting up the network I got the error message that I should unplug the Ethernet cable. However, it was not plugged in Ethernet cable. The manual setup directly on the device did not work out. When you first call the hotline should I load the printer driver from the site instead of the use of the CD. Did not help. The next time you call it said, the error message with the Ethernet cable is a "known issue" that I should try to update the firmware and if this does not help, I would have to send the unit in for repair. Firmware update did not help, so called again and agreed with the hotline repair. The unit will be picked up and brought back. The whole process takes about 8 days. The repair service is thereby disposed of the original packaging and sent back to me the device wrapped in air foil, which I felt was very unprofessional. According to report repairs various parts were exchanged and a functional test carried out, but the problem was still exactly the same. So a repair that was completely free and passed the subject. A new call to support revealed new information: The device would not be able to connect to a network that is running on WPA2 / WPA mode (ie offering both encryptions parallel), I would have to either activate only WPA or WPA2 only. Even that did not help. After all the measures I had unsuccessfully by that recommended the hotline, I went myself on troubleshooting. Finally, I could solve the problem by I forgave a static IP address to the printer and DHCP disabled. The WPA2 / WPA encryption was then no problem.
Overall a sad idea of Samsung, so I can forgive three star only (benevolent). If there were interesting alternatives, I would have considered myself to return the device after this experience.
