I for one was earlier - in good old VHS-times - even by reason of price simply disciplined as regards the extent of the permanent records of the television. For a brand-VHS tape is finally with 3 Euro. And then the problem of space with expansive VHS tapes! Now costs a branded DVD tray about 50 cents, at least if you buy 50 spindles. In particular, the irresistible place to be finished one way or another recording more. As a result, one is tempted to record everything that appears a reasonably interesting. For me, it is next to feature films that I do not want to acquire a DVD purchase, especially television films and documentaries of all kinds. Inevitably archiving is then eventually for space problem, slimline cases or not.
At this point creates Hama CD / DVD Box "Espresso" remedy - if not permanently, then at least for a very long time yet. With this box you can in a confined space (34.7 x D: 24.4 x H 17.1 cm) 260 DVD archive (!). The box is equipped with 130 removable DVD double bags, each containing a numbering above. This double pockets each hold two DVDs (front and rear) and therefore each contain two numbers. The DVDs are protected from dust and is archived scratchproof, access is extremely convenient. I think this type of storage is inferior to the classic jewel case or the Slimline Case for DVDs under any circumstances.
The box of Hama is solid and orderly processes - imitation wood from the outside and solid plastic drawers, reinforced with metal. The rails on which the DVD double bags are hung, are also made of metal. This promises a long life. If you have several boxes, you can connect them with a metal clip. However some getting used to is the chemical smell, the pockets initially escape, these are, however, over time. Nevertheless, it would have been the manufacturer safely avoided and for this there is of me a point deduction in the evaluation.
Mandatory for retrieving one's own records is for large archives of course an index. I strongly recommend such to customize, best meet your requirements. - For those who mainly shoot movies, there is this a wonderful little program called MyMDb. This can be downloaded free from the Internet. With its help it is possible, for example, boxing related records - and drawer, in double boxes - capture, each in a list / file ("BOX 1, left side"). It is best suited its stocked with DVDs labeled box and are entitled to a title in a row. The numbering of the box automatically true then match each title. At the end you have more then complete index directories (= title lists). These can be transferred to Excel and print from MyMDb alphabetical order following. For each box packed, in this way, access to any record within seconds possible ...
Conclusion: I would highly recommend purchasing this box for DVD junkies it solves the space and the access problem sustainably, the price / performance ratio is m. E. outstanding.
