My PowerShot SX 280 HS had despite serial number with "3" and the current firmware is the problem that the battery indicator in the video mode after a few seconds with fully charged battery is flashing red. There are then still more video while possible, it is impossible to tell how long the battery capacity is still sufficient .. If the video recording wg. too low voltage then turns off, the photo mode, the battery indicator will return to a full battery. After a short time video recordings can be made then again. This is a known issue of the series 270 and 280 and is discussed in the American forums for a long time. A solution, there did not appear, I sent the camera back therefore.
