Initially, the remote control was not working and sent no IR light (that you can with some digital cameras that have built no IR cut filter, see). The cause was soon found: The battery does not make contact. When squeezing the casing at the battery, the remote control work. So rebent contacts and do it. Quality control seems not to give.
