Problems with processing and background noise

After I with PHLIPS OR2200M / 10 (
Philips OR2200M / 10 Original Radio in miniature (DAB +, FM tuner, alarm clock functions, 20 stations) mocha) as an alarm clock was not satisfied, I've (got the dnt DAB + Compact with another dealer).

Positives:
+ Very good DAB + reception, by myself with retracted rod antenna.
+ Dual alarm.
+ Device is not too big as an alarm clock.
+ Device is not too small to make DAB due to the speaker size / quality sound superfluous.
+ Display dims automatically after (adjustable) period.
+ Some functions both with front buttons and with buttons to operate above.

Neutral:
+ - Operation / menu navigation: Not quite intuitive, certainly after some time of use ok.
+ - Sound based on size / Mono ok.
+ - In standby, the time is displayed 2x (1x large HH: MI and 1x small HH: MI: SS), in addition the date.

Negatives:
- The volume control is used as the OK button on all menu actions, is cumbersome to use.
- Processing of the case: The black color / foil was bulged near the upper controls, built the snooze button wrong.
- High frequency whistle from the speaker or housing as soon as the radio (DAB +) is running and you (when used as an alarm clock) near the ear enough to the speaker (approx 50cm away).

If the high-frequency whistle had not been, I would probably keep the device.
In combination with the other mentioned processing deficiencies (quality control before delivery to dealers?) I have returned the device and not replaced by the same device, even if it may have been an isolated incident.

For another application, the device is safe ok, so even as a 3 star overall.
