I myself collect concept art books, because they me very inspired in my work as an app developer. For this reason, I also buy me only the most beautiful and happy and rare specimens.
After I have recently looked at all the Harry Potter films, and like many others have a little lapse in the hype, I have looked to see whether there is also Concept-books to the movies.
Here I am on the "Harry Potter Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey [Deluxe Edition]" encountered.
I am the product confronted very skeptical, not least because of the price of no less than about 300 (!).
After the positive reviews and feel something, but then hit the big & heavy package one two days later.
The collection of books was very good transport safe and shockproof packed!
The processing of books is fantastic!
There was a lot of effort put into the design and appearance of books, from the inside and from the outside.
It was much more on details like structures, fabrics, ribbons, stamps. not saved.
For the optics, there are therefore grade 1+ (15 points)
The distribution of the content is very well chosen!
Each book focuses on a specific topic:
Landscapes, creatures, graphics, and much more.
For this purpose each book has over 100 pages, accordingly luxuriant is its content.
The Concept-books was in an exemplary focus on the images and not littered with texts.
For the content, there is therefore also note 1+ (15 points)
Price / performance ratio:
The books contain a rough estimate, more than 10,000 images, spread over about 1500 pages.
If the price of just under 300 justified?
Strictly speaking, it is even very cheap, most Concept books are filled with an average of around 200-300 images.
Priced at 25 (mostly expensive) so you pay 8-13 cents per image.
For the Harry Potter collection you pay but just about 2.5 cents per image.
The value of these books is so easily in 1000!
This collection of books definitely aimed not just to Harry Potter fans, but to those who can do something with Concept Art & Design.
I am very pleased to have purchased this collection of books, and can compliment that was able to get a "copy" each buyer only.
PS: I have no doubt that at some point these books a lot of money will be worth it,
such as Syd Mead Kronolog that are not going to get today below 1500 ... if you're lucky.
