"The Electric Age" is not as bleak as its predecessor failed, it overkill go more straighter, "rocking" to work. Here Thrash Metal is celebrated in its purest form - Overkill employ any style foreign influences (such as on her '97 album "From the Underground and Below), which makes nowadays almost to exotics The sound quality is again very strong:. Tonnes of heavy heave the reef like an avalanche of steel in the ears of the listener.
The album includes 10 songs, including no filler. Playing tips for gentle listener: Electric Rattlesnake, Black Daze, Drop the hammer down, Goodnight.
The remarkable already on the last album drumming of Ron Lipnicki is continued here. So good drum work I've heard in a long time not overkill. For me, this is worth mentioning insofar as the drumming of Lipnicki has become just as influential and typical of the classical Overkill sound like Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth's singing or bass playing DDVernis.
The Digibook looks classy, the bonus DVD (a short "Making of" the album and Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth's comments on the new album) but failed rather poor.
Conclusion: Overkill are currently in top form, perhaps as good as ever.
