Strengths:
- It is very comfortable, by its great lightness, it automatically adjusts to your head thanks to a very well-designed roll cage, not too hot ears and pads are very soft, in short all good at this level!
- It is well done, the arch is made of genuine leather, a lot of plastic but quality probably needed to limit the weight.
- The sound is very clear and very spatial, we can easily benchmark instruments in the mix, great on that side, the open design pays off!
- The sound is dynamic, attacks are straightforward and short, the headphones to alot of pep !!! This allows not to push the volume, I advise you to take advantage of its dynamism!
Weak points:
- Contrary to what many professional sites, this headset is for me not very neutral: if the bass are present (and a great depth, with a beautiful impact) it still lacks a little body, medium low and low-mid are far behind. The other problem is the HUGE peak shrill to 8kHz, frequent enough in helmets but here gives an aggressive side, artificial and enigmatic when combined with the lack of bodies in the grave on the most pissing genres (metal in particular). A little too high mediums also, it gives a phone assze side can be irritating. While it is good to identify defects in a mix and genres such as ambient, jazz, because it energizes and listening to an incredible extent, I recommend to fans of saturated music (metal, hard rock), because really not enough body and a shrill becoming strident about these genres!
- The non-detachable headset on this model, unlike the K702 (sold to 80 euros more expensive), and helmets that price, it really is intolerable!
- The back of an open design: around you will hear you, and there is absolutely not isolate outside noise, it is a purely sedentary helmet!
- High enough impedance: you must add a nomadic amp for use with your player on the move, and usually, it really gives its best with a fine amp dedicated to lamps that bring roundness. Exclude use with compressed MP3 files too: FLAC, Apple Lossless or WAVE needed here! The best is to have a chain with DAC and whatnot worth an arm!
Conclusion: I recommend this helmet for audiophiles who desire an analytical, dynamic headphones, with good amplification equipment: those alone will draw all the quintessence. Looking for a good headset audio lovers (and anyone who likes edgy genres), but more flexible or simple power: go your way, look more toward the Philips Fidelio range (M1 nomadic or for X1 home) or some models of Bowers & Wilkins (P5 particular).
