It seems somehow strange that not a single song with the old instance singer Sebastian Lohse on "15 Years of Brutal Romance" is. Only 5 songs are more or less represented but one has the song "Cold shine" resorted to the acoustic version of "Neusänger" Holly and the song "Forever and ever", "My Death", "head cinema" and "In my memory "have been completely recorded and sung again with Holly. In an interview with the Orkus magazine is expressed as follows: "With not even play for our current fans the old band occupations the major role we take chose older songs again with Holly ..." Honestly, this approach Weis I find that very questionable and somehow against a verar .... Sebastian Lohse, I can not imagine that he is happy about an instance Best Of CD where he can be heard on any song to me. And with all due respect for Holly but his voice fits in my opinion, only partly to the old songs, I'm there to be honest a little hurt when I his interpretations of "My Death", "Forever and ever", "In my memory "and above all" mental cinema "hear, especially in this song I lack the distinctive voice of Sebastian Lohse most common being. In "In my memory," is the way the English part at the end of the song especially bad - Holly sings this song! (Unlike the original version where it has come at a great duet with Sven Friedrich) and "shines" with such a lousy English pronunciation as I have rarely heard, because you wonder why you have not worked with a singer who is the English also powerful, Holly seems to somehow have no idea what he was there at all "singing" ...
It really is hard for me Holly so badly to talk, he is certainly not a bad singer and I like especially the first instance album with him ("Into the Light") but very beautiful at live appearances, he was able to not really with the old songs convince, so it would have made more sense in my eyes to let the songs as they are in order to clarify the fans as the band has developed over the years. In "15 Years of Brutal Romance" shows the way, how Holly's voice has partially developed my personal opinion, even unfortunately the negative. While he has yet to hear in "Into the Light" with a slightly darker timbre he is based in the albums after that more and more on in my ears get used to higher and slightly nasal singing in the style of Eric Fishes (with whom I nunmal not really what can begin ). Somehow a pity for "Into the Light" I had the impression that Holly own style purely brings in the songs during this in the later albums rather conditionally the case because my resemblance to Eric Fish are attracted negative attention more and more ...
As I said the tracklist itself I find not exactly felicitous. It focuses primarily on the albums with Holly which is understandable, although to a certain extent, but I can understand that difficult from the first album "Brachial romance" only "The violin student" is represented in an unnecessary remix version. The album "Gods on demand" was also completely ignored and one of the most biggest live classic "Rapunzel" is not represented. I do not know whether the instance "Rapunzel" go live but still plays the song is definitely one to a Best Of CD during the "gods on demand" album the opinions apparently very apart. In my opinion, the album is undervalued criminally, songs like "Bitter Night", "Every morning," "Without a Trace," "Speechless" and "position in the cosmos" are for me to the best instance of songs and had it deserved to be considered. But apparently you did not stated explicitly Sebastian Lohse song for this compilation, I assume this is in any case times the band ....
If even such a compilation it would now times have made more sense to better illuminate the band history by had left the old songs as they are, also a chronological tracklisting would be starting with the old been welcomed to the new songs are here, even the songs the albums "Into the Light", "Wir sind Gold", "Guilty", "Holy and" Everlasting "in no real order but somehow been thrown together.
Sorry last instance but with this release, the band makes no great favor, not perhaps so familiar with the older material for newer fans like them might be interesting but long-established fans will probably finally scared ...
