First of all, I really do not know what the design team has thought at the color of the new game units. The colors green, blue and gray are too similar in my opinion much. All are very dark and almost indistinguishable in contrast with the map being too garish held on the board. Unless you want to make a construction lights next to the table so is playing very frustrating with these colors!
In addition, the one-man units remain significantly worse than they are in the previous version, which is probably due to the limited space of the new units. This is also very frustrating and ends so often is that the units are just still laid from the outset.
One could also sometimes consider using a heavier material (more ambitious plastic or tin), because it is easy once that one confuses the whole game field by a clumsy gesture and thus almost no longer makes the game playable.
In addition to the rules for the two-man variant there is no indication whether the neutral units may also attack and who rolls for the neutral units when defending. But I really do not care, really not fun variant for two anyway.
A positive feature is only the conversion of the reinforcements that are now no longer gets collect through various little pictures, special by collecting cards with stars. Depending on the number of collected stars then you get a certain number of units. The frustration after four trains still be able to redeem any units there is no longer so.
All in all, it's very strange that you probably care after decades (!) Experience with this game, not one bit about the playability but rather it smacks a few new (and senseless) rules and the customers of "back to basics" aufschwatzt, although older versions of high-quality clear and playable come along.
A disappointment!
