1. The Ethernet connection can not a normal network connection to be set up to transfer data from the receiver to transfer to the PC. It's just a UPnP connection possible. In Windows 7, can be accessed with the Media Player 12 on the receiver to play files and only with a trick can save the data on the computer.
2. The receiver has to be true 2 USB ports but only supports the FAT file formats and EXT3 for reading and writing. Under NTFS files can only be read. Anyone who wishes to transfer his movies on an external HDD, which can only FAT and ext3. FAT but only supports file sizes up to 4GB, and as nearly every recording is already larger than 4GB (the highest quality 100MB per min), it has already done with FAT. EXT3 is a file format on Linux and can not be read so easily under Windows. Only through additional software is an access is possible (eg ext2fsd) The power supply via USB also not enough the way from my external HDD 2,5Zoll. I need to provide additional power, the HDD. Whether that's in all 2,5Zoll HDDs so, I can not say. As an alternative you can also use a large USB flash drive.
3. I miss very much ShowView. With my old Humax that was still in the process. Since the program has been recorded at least correct. If now what shifts from the transmission time ago, it's vinegar recording. Unless you have set long pre- and post times.
4. HD broadcasts of private TV channels can not record. (Except customers of cable Germany and KabelBW)
Who does not want to archive his films is well served by the device. Otherwise, then you had better look for another unit, for more complicated as it gets.
Addendum:
Now I have found that no encrypted content can be SD / transmitter is recorded with the device and CI + module PrimaCom incl. Card. Currently, I can therefore only record the public. Humax but advertises that it works. On request they told me that they are working on the problem. I just wonder how long? The unit has existed since October 2011 and now is in December. There are extra points deduction.
My dealer informed now again exactly at Humax about the state of affairs. If there come any positive response, the unit returns.
Addendum 2:
OK, the unit returns. My dealer says that Humax currently has no solution to the problem and can not say about when this will change.
Conclusion: PrimaCom customers can currently record with the iCord only the public broadcaster.
