have acquired great stuff here to complete my collection ECM, but also less exciting.
This disk is at the required Obulus no mess, you probably do not buy the normal price I have cope so far.
the trio formation Jarrett / Holland / DeJohnette is always beyond reproach, but of which I have exciting and innovative discs on the shelf.
the flugelhorn player Kenny Wheeler, who makes here from this formation a quartet can boast an independent sound and delivers creative improvisations from. out of my - of course purely subjective - but view it is overambitious and thereby brings a restlessness in the well-rehearsed trio that can be a bit stressful and intrusive the result and partly.
eg. a Jan Garbarek has already happened shows how relaxed and casual with the New York may jam exceptional pianist, Kenny Wheeler was here probably too much. Well and a little bland, it is then also become a total ... more
even the cover is not quite as successful, the various reds beat yourself that fits Scripture also not quite so.
the recording quality, however, is beyond any doubt, all the instruments are perfectly exposed and almost physically present. the piano sounds massive and the flugelhorn is any blowing noise and hear it rattle the keys. the bass you can see almost the contrasting fingertips and also the drums sound like it should be.
more than one star deduction for all bemeckerte is not therefore indoors, there is a piano trio of absolute world class and an ambitious blaster to listen to a little money anyway!
