Rigorous, precise, general

I think this book is very well suited for students of engineering schools, the master and to a lesser extent, for mechanical licenses.
The first chapter summarizes although much of the notions to have before starting fluid mechanics (pressure notions, viscosity, principles of thermodynamics, etc.).
With each new concept or equation is remarkable practical application and fully corrected exercises with detail.
There are still some pretty indigestible chapters as kinematics and fluid rheology.

This book has the advantage of being very strict both in notation as in the procedures and working methods and reasoning. In my case, it allowed me to understand the concepts and reasoning of the mech flu helpful to the engineering culture. However, this is not the book that will help prepare students for exams quickly. If this is what you seek, I advise rather the courses and corrected exercises DUT or BTS available on the net, which are much more oriented towards practical application.

To conclude, I would say that this book is primarily intended to strengthen the mechanical engi culture and allows us to understand more deeply why the physical things, but will not be efficient for those who seek only solving problems by simply applying formulas.
