Customer Review

This album from 1984 is the first album of Westlife, that really drives the 80s sound splint. Had he the predecessor "Geiler 'is already" even utter approaches, but there was still a tape to listen to. But here there are only 3 man (Lothar Meid, Trio's claw Krawinkel and MMW) cobble together everything alone. And here everything is a mess out what you could get in 1984 as: synthesizer and drum machine, but still fat guitars and hingerotzte texts as only they can convey Westlife. And that makes this album worth listening to again. Clear, 30 years later it sounds quite antiquated, but ultimately it's all about the songs and that are largely great. Actually, as early modern trimmed only (for its time). Only "Mack the Knife" falls to me by completely. A failed cover of Brecht / Weill's classic. But already "Baby" makes me forget the opener. What's hot as to the best times. Just as "wings" or "cannibal", provided it comes with the overall sound of this album clearly. This of course is not all classic rock more like in the 70s. Then comes "no time" now now already a classic. It follows the reggae of the great crazy song "Rumpelstiltskin" and the former single "So many people". The Rocker "Kotz you out", "If you are looking for a fight," "Bye, bye" or the slightly quieter "I am a man" are typical Westlife. But most of the old Marius comes the last song "Bar pays" approach. On the whole, a decent slice, trying to capture the siffigen rock Peppermint Stinker phase and to save the year 1984 is over. Only the songs on this peak period can not quite match unfortunately. But they can still 4 stars for a good album.
