I needed a camera with no frills for skiing or cycling. The operation is very simple, because there is only one button. So that's exactly what I wanted. Press once and the recording starts, one long (and not short as in the manual incorrectly described) Press and the recording stops. The Status LED can be in the corner of your eye to recognize (blinks during recording) does not bother. Unfortunately, I've noticed the error in the pattern until after my first tour. This my first videos are now only ten seconds disjointed pieces. Although I had previously tried everything short, but a proper sample movie I have not rotated.
The device 11 is detected via the USB port of Windows XP as well as Mac OS X and Ubuntu Linux correctly as a removable disk.
The pictures are a bit choppy. But this is nothing that a good video editing software does not hinbekommt again. In the dark, the camera comes with drawbacks still with quite good. As long as you can still be traveling on skis or by bike, including the camera gets everything. The microphone is quite alright. Although wind produces a noise but it's not overly loud.
It seems to be built no internal charge controller. One should just hang eight to a maximum of twelve hours on the power tool. That could be of course solved gentler on the batteries that you can not change readily.
In the recordings a date is inserted down the right automatically. Date and time are indeed set, position and format but not. Completely disable it is not. At least in the instructions to nothing.
The glasses sitting (on my head) extremely loose and can not be adjusted fixed. At least in the instructions nothing about whether one should bend the bow for example, under heat. I have achieved with a sports band for glasses from opticians my confidence. But it is not so easy to find a suitable option, because the strap ends are relatively large. Be sure to try local Passigkeit.
With ski helmet glasses pushes extremely on ears and nose, what with my other goggles (without camera) is not the case. With helmet I had no problems. One has to bear relatively far on the nose glasses so well. Since I have relatively sensitive eyes, that means to me, that I may carry only little wind (travel), because otherwise my eyes water. I have had the device as to be high on the nose. This my first shots directed all a long way to the top. Even that gets out, if one with the Video Software crops the image. This, however, you lose quite a good resolution.
Both types of glass are clear, so that you do not see blurred.
I realized that to succeed, at least my model any recordings that are longer than four minutes at a time. I use a Class 10 memory card and the battery was full. The recording simply aborts, is touched without the button (even when the camera is only on the table). Then I can easily start more recordings (also abort). So the battery life I could not thoroughly test unfortunately.
It may well be that only exactly my model was affected. But since it already showed some signs of wear, and I really wanted anyway not a replacement model, I have an exchange does not even try.
Conclusion:
The photographs themselves are very good and the service simple. Unfortunately, the glasses wearing uncomfortable and is not adjustable. The manual is short, inaccurate and contain errors and a device with a single control knob. There is still room for improvement ...
