There are many different Staubsaugerroboter but what distinguishes the NEATO from the others?
-> What is special:
It sucks not only alone, but also smart!
The NEATO one of the first robot vacuum cleaners that do not just drive by and abut to know their territory, but walls, properly to identify and bypass cabinets, chair legs and the like. So he travels not just offensive and ping-pong moderately through the area, but he studied before his work its surroundings.
How does he do that? About a rotating laser, which protrudes into the small tower on the vacuum cleaner:
After the NEATO has therefore looked around briefly, he starts with his work. Here, the contrast to some other robot vacuum cleaners is visible again: The NEATO drives his area strip by strip from, bypasses this chair legs, tables and also recognizes (open) doors (up to a certain width).
Therefore, he needed unlike some other vacuum cleaner robots no imaginary barriers that need to a battery and are often on the other hand a little inconvenient in the way.
Having drawn a room, he continues in the next adjoining room and performed there on his task. Should he go out of power (battery), he shares the the display briefly and returns determined back to his charging station to recharge. He must also not here as some other only after the imaginary barriers seek to rediscover, but when cleaning it creates a floor plan and goes so unerringly to its charging station.
When charging is completed, sets the NEATO his work from the point at which he had to take the load break.
In addition to the laser to help him even 2 button on the front of NEATO when detecting obstacles, for example, are lower than its laser. This works very well in practice, since the vacuum cleaner can pretty much close to drive up to edges and walls.
Another difference of NEATO to other vacuum cleaner robots is its design - the front is just, in contrast to most other that are around.
Does this have any advantage? Oh yeah definitely! Thus, namely the actual suction of the vacuum cleaner are very much placed in front and thus comes very close to cabinets or walls zoom.
Like other vacuum cleaner robot, he recognizes with his ground sensors also paragraphs such as stairs and brake in time from before the crash, turning from elegant and moves on its tracks.
With its spring-mounted in the center wheels, he climbs well doorsteps or carpets to about 2cm height. Whether hard floor, tiles, cork or carpeting, the NEATO cleans all very thoroughly. I am always amazed at how much dust is still found in my apartment. If the vacuum cleaner container full, it signals the display. Then the container was removed easily from above, takes the additional filter from, empty it out, sets the filter back on it and sets the container again.
If you do not want to clean even the whole apartment, for example, because the remains of the chips are in the kitchen or in the living room a pack of sugar, there is also a so-called spot mode. In this mode, it cleans a spot about 1.2 meters x 1.8 meters large area.
Furthermore, the side has a USB jack NEATO. With this you can connect it to your PC and update itself.
The NEATO While acknowledging own premises and therefore requires no annoying light barriers, but nevertheless, it can happen that you want to protect certain areas. There is then a thin magnetic tape that can be cut to length and just laying on the ground. Once it detects the magnetic tape, it turns also here again and leaves this area. One can attach vertically eg on a flat table stand the magnetic tape and even this he recognizes me.
How loud is it? Now that feels safe at all slightly different. Since it's a dust-SAUG robot, you can hear him, of course, as you can hear every little handheld vacuum cleaner. But compared for example with the Roomba I find him to be very pleasant.
So if you want to spend a little more / can, and instead of a ping-pong-esque robot want a smart vacuum cleaner robot, which I can recommend the NEATO or his big brother the Vorwerk VR100 good conscience.
By the way, the NEATO works thanks to its laser without any problems at night! In other vacuum cleaner robots with cameras which scan the ceiling you need some daylight.
Since in the meantime several different models are (NEATO XV-11, XV-12, XV-15, XV-21, XV-25, Signature, Essential, Botvac and Vorwerk VR-100/200) to conclude with a short list:
XV-11 or XV-15 / XV-12
------------------------
The NEATO XV-11 (USA) is technically identical to the European model XV-15th The only difference is the casing color (gray blue in XV-15, gray-green in XV-11), and the Euro power cord.
The XV-12 is the XV-11, but with a white casing, as in the American retail chain Target is exclusively available.
XV-21 or XV-25
------------------
The NEATO XV-21 (USA) / XV-25 (Europe) is nothing more than an XV-11 with other housing color (XV-15: white with purple; XV-25: white with blue), and the brush and the HEPA filter of the VR-100. Both parts, VR-100 brush and filters you can buy more as individual parts, and thus turn a XV-11 XV-21 a.
Signature / Pro / Essential
---------------------------
The Neato Signature / Pro (only extended delivery) is the successor of the XV-21 and XV25. The case is black with silver. He, like his predecessors a NiMH battery. In addition, he has built a HEPA microfilter. The brushes are compatible with the XV25. As volume 70dB is specified, and has therefore apparently not improved on its predecessors. The suction power is said to have, in contrast to its predecessors, however, improved.
The Essential is also identical to the Signature, is white with accents in gray / silver and also differs only in the equipment.
Neato Botvac
-------------
The Botvac is a newly developed model of Neato with side brush.
The housing is white / gray with colored accents. As NiMH battery is used as with all other models Neato.
The models 70e (orange laser tower) / 75 (green laser tower) / 80 (violet laser tower) / 85 (blue laser tower) turn differ only in the delivery, not in the technical (as in the Signature / Pro). He also has a HEPA filter and seems to have the same volume of 70dB. Unlike the signature he has:
- Greater, CA, 3.5cm wider brush
- Larger collection container
- Larger battery
- Efficient blower / vacuum cleaner
- Side Brush
Vorwerk VR-100
----------------
The VR-100 is also produced by NEATO and is based on the XV-11, but with some improvements that make it even more significant than the XV-21 / XV-25.
Differences of NEATO XV-11/21 for Vorwerk VR-100
The VR-100 is sold by Vorwerk in white and gray with silver and green accents and is based on the
XV-11th Through technical changes of Vorwerk following differences arise:
better effectiveness of the (suction) blower 12% during XV-21 compared to 28% at VR100
Side brush not available at VR-100, at NEATO XV Series
better sound insulation measures at VR-100 which does not have the XV-21.
Battery: NiMH (XV-21) compared to Li-Ion (VR100) by better use and longer life as a NiMH battery.
Housing: softer materials, which additionally reduces the scratching of furnishings.
Finally, in the pictures are the details of the not yet officially presented VR-200 based on the net present.
Vorwerk VR200
--------------
Unlike the VR100 is based on the XV-11 and was only modified technically, the VR200 is time its own production and is not a technical modification of an existing Neato model, so not the recently published Botvac.
# Principle, recognize a complete different socket.
During Botvac (old-fashioned) as previous models XV (or Signature / Essential) or the VR100 looks
(Basic shape, side brush, laser tower), has the VR200 a completely different (modern) appearance.
# The Botvac has put the side brush as the VR100 side back
the VR200 has the front side of the corner
# The laser tower of VR200 is something entirely different and seemingly has integrated a Bumper
# The access or the presentation of the dust container is completely different.
# The VR200 has 3 front ultrasonic sensors
# The VR200 has above a fold-out carrying handle
# The VR200 has a similar center front Ladanzeige as has the VC100
# The VR200 has certainly also again a LiIon battery and no NiMh
# When VR200 there is an IR remote control and an app to control
-> Under Customer Product Photos I have set a comparison list of the different models and their features.
