After Joey in Slipknot is now out, Scar the Martyr will probably be in the future his main band, because it is worth it again to listen more closely. On paper, many first sounds very good: Mr. Jordison has a competent singer wanted, the harsh but mostly skillfully clean sings occasionally. The songs are crisp hard, while Melody oriented electronic Sprengsel and small industrial elements provide variety. The song structures are unpredictable and the songs also unusually long (an average of about 6 minutes). So far so good. Unfortunately, I can the album yet over longest distances completely cold, emotionally stirring is nothing, the song material sounds completely uniformly and without identity. Despite the melodic focus here is hardly something really catchy, which I find really strange. For this reason, the long songs also help not really work and only artificially protracted. Desöfteren, and here it is funny, I feel sound and singing excessively recalls Mushroomhead, but since I like my hearing playing a prank. Speaking of sound: here too much lacking, especially when one sets about the last Slipknot as compared to washed and little punchy that's all. So overall a big disappointment, I would even call it a very average album, if, indeed if it were not to 13ter place when the album already past seems a little hit would lurk: "Mind's Eye". To even remotely ranzukommen again Slipknot needs Mr. Jordison more such songs, but thanks to this song, it is sufficient here still for (6/10).
