My therapist advised me this book (she was beginning to know me ...), it was a real shock, at 37, to recognize and understand me through the pages. It was also saving because this reading, combined with my work in therapy, allowed me to move up a gear for better control my hypersensitivity and channel my thoughts and imagination overflowing. Relief. Revisiting my past, my suffering, my shift feeling, the desire to not be there sometimes, boredom, loneliness, in the light of explanations. "Know thyself", to accept, to re-know, this is the beginning of true inner freedom. I'll take the tests to confirm, I feel the need, no doubt to be able to talk more easily to my family then. In short, a big THANK YOU to Mrs. Siaud-Facchin because this book has literally changed my life and I do not think I have ever said to any other work!
By cons, what bothered me is his admiration for the gifted, the "veneration", it made me ill at ease during playback. And the lack of tracks for "live with." Fortunately I'm doing work on me. I would add that there are other writers to discover, it is not the first nor the only one to have written on the subject.
In general, I find it unfortunate that the titles of books on giftedness never mention hypersensitivity, they suggest that giftedness is only a matter of IQ, or it's wrong, there all the emotional aspect, artistic and sensitive. Which, fortunately, is very well treated in this book. I have often heard Mrs. Siaud-Facchin repeat during interviews that "gifted think all the time with their heart." The formula is very fair.
