Science fiction during the Cold War and fear of invasion

Village of the Damned / Chocky (Paperback)

Customer Review

This kind of science fiction, with connotations Cold War, is typical of this period the United States.
Indeed, the fear of invasion, even if it is not linked here directly here to the Soviet Union, is omnipresent in both news.
Whether external invasions (in the Village of the Damned) or intimate (Chocky,) they serve as a backdrop to both stories.
Although the style is a bit dated these stories hang you from the first pages and do not give up before the end, and all this, not to mention the fact that the Village of the Damned was adapted sumptuously cinema,
In short reading if you like this kind of stories.
Good reading.
