Revolution Saints were presented as the supergroup in 2015. Of the participants ago they are safe, finally united the band (ex) members of Whitesnake, Night Ranger and Journey. But what all info have persistently concealed is the fact that the band in the songwriting was absolutely not involved. The only contribution in this regard are the lyrics to Turn Back Time, written by Jack Blades. The majority of the songs comes from Alessandro DelVecchio, the current keyboardist of Hardline and at the same time domestic and Hofproduzenten of Frontier Records. Other contributions are from some Swedish rock musicians (Mattesson, Karlson, etc.) which also keep coming up with diverse Frontiers projects. And just this sham is my biggest gripe with the album Why can not Aldrich, Blades and Castranovo working on their own material. That you can write songs, is well known and the result would be definitely different and probably have been better. Songs 1 8 could also come from Journey, they all sound like a sophomore from Journeys ARRIVAL album, superb melodies, strong vocals, quite the Neil Already-style and not too intrusive (and at the same time for Doug Aldrich conditions unexciting) guitars, quite violent Drums (for a Melodic Rock Drummer knüppelt Dean pretty straight on, but also may be a little on the production) and all backed by a rather staid Alessandro DelVecchio keyboard carpet (which can Jonathan Cain definitely better). As a big fan of Journey I have to these songs little to complain about, except for the fact that they are not of Journey, but of the revolution Saints. With DONT WALK AWAY a great ballad is, HERE FOREVER homage typical Journey bombast and the rest of the first 8 songs nestled pleasantly in the ear canals. Song 9 STRANGERS TO THIS LIFE swung a little and is copied from beginning to end without mercy at Survivor. Good number, which can, however, miss a separate note. Songs 10 11 offer Scandi AOR and from here the album begins strongly to quality subside. These numbers without rippling climax as a stopgap to go and prepare the listener specifically on IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER ago, which is a urfade, mostly accompanied on keyboards / piano, lacrimal glands provoking ballad that is topped off with a 08/15 guitar solo. The remaining 3 songs offer alternative versions of 2 previously belonged Journey clone, interestingly, even by Anel Pineda sung (Steve Augeri would have preferred!). Nothing to complain about, good numbers and absolutely ok as a bonus. I've been looking forward to this very album, as fans of all master bands of musicians. Even as a big fan of the guitar work that Doug Aldrich has delivered to Whitsnake and Burning Rain. There is absolutely no flop, fans of Journey / Bad English / Survivor will love this CD, but unfortunately it is not quite what I expected. The band has 3 excellent singer, it would have been absolutely nothing wrong or sometimes to let Blades Aldrich ans Micro Lead. Dean Castranovo is a great singer, but he poaches enormously in the plains of Steve Augeri or Anel Pineda. Since some variety would have done the work. In addition, where the crashing guitars have remained that I had hoped for from Doug. From me there solid 4 points and the wish that the band may be found as a band and the record company that makes 3 working themselves to songs and that the influence of external songwriters may be drastically reduced.
