I got the block without further ado reordered, thus expanding the total storage to 1.5 GB after initial experience with the Acer Extensa 5220 and Vista Basic. It worked instantly and completely problem-free. Since then, the hard disk is only rarely and the system is running - in stark contrast to earlier - liquid.
