Customer Review

Certainly one or the other has been asked which tablet is the right choice and stuck when screening the Asus TF101 and the Acer A500. This was the question I was in any case and had at that time decided to go for the Acer A500. Now wanted my better half a tablet and that's why we let come TF101 because of the likelihood of confusion, the Asus. It should be mentioned again that the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 were eliminated because of poor or nonexistent SD card support.

The Asus TF101 and the Acer A500 compared for each category:

Battery: runtime when Acer A500 considerably longer. It certainly depends on the applications, but there are longer periods of 3 hours or more at
Acer possible.
The load times are almost identical, with the Acer in turn forward a little nose. The Asus on the other hand brings a bonus because of the possibility,
to load via USB. The temperature development on the devices and chargers remains problematic. This point was mentioned only in passing, because it
here the Motorola Xoom PSU are problems.

Display: A direct comparison reveals a distinct advantage for the Asus TF101. The presentation of the Acer is indeed very good and
Viewpoint stable. However, the display of the Asus offers a much better brightness and natural colors, which, especially in the
Video playback is clear.
The sensitivity of the touch screen is the same for both devices.

-Ladezeiten / Speeds: on this point, both devices do not take anything. The loading times of apps or web pages are virtually identical.
For completeness let me say that the Asus had a complex Flight Simulator booted nearly 2 seconds earlier.

-Videoformate: An important point for me.

The Acer A500 has been playing with the standard video player from a variety of different video formats. The Asus had at all
my test clips swivel the white flag: repeatedly refused the Asus opening the files. The free Mobo player besides codec
Although Pack from the Market brought Remedy, but the advantage goes to Acer. First, one might not necessarily dependent on a
make single functioning Player. Secondly prepared the Mobo player while Asus TF101 also problems Forward. Partly hooked
playback afterwards or the sound remained for a few seconds away. Point for Acer.

-Handling: The Asus is slightly wider than the A500 from Acer, but this did not bother me. Overall, the Asus tablet is significantly better in the hand
and partially criticized "sharp edges" were not a problem. Especially when you have to hold the device with one hand, is the Asus
pleasant.

Processing: The biggest surprise! When Acer A500 I could possibly looking a little too much for the children's toys Hardware Keys
kritisieren- otherwise the Acer tablet making in terms of processing defects. Those keys are the Asus TF101 somewhat
quality, but the scope of the Asus is processed unclean. The frame is practically non-flush the inside of the machine on. If
So for example, pushes down on the sides of the frame, you realize how the frame gives way. So there is a gap exists in the
dust may settle. Very disappointing, like the rubberized back but exceptionally well.

UPDATES: Asus shows all other suppliers, how to keep the customers with firmware updates in a good mood.

In all other respects, the devices are virtually identical performance. Be it the WLAN connectivity, the camera and video functions, or the sound quality. The possibility of the Asus via docking station "transform" the Netbook to bring one last advantage for the Asus in terms of expandability.

I went in this report about me which were noted enumerate the differences between A500 and Acer Asus TF101.

Today given the choice, I'd choose the Acer A500, because:

1) The battery performance in a mobile device plays a major role.

2.) affords the A500 no obvious weaknesses processing

3.) The A500 supports more video formats

Overall, the Asus TF101 is a good tablet with little weaknesses. I had the Acer A500 it 5 stars and give the Asus EeePad TF101 4 stars!
