The developer, known for UA Sanctum, showed this "game" really just a tech demo, it was then the players and trade press that wanted to have it, whereupon Coffestains pulled himself together and it actually evolved, and on April 1, 2014 officially published.
The development team behind this game released in the near future various addons like multiplayer on a PC (splitscreen), new maps, and the Steam Workshop, there are of course already.
