Reasons to buy the BC 1609:
- Lighting
- Temperature display
- Two wheels
- Sigma has never let me down
- The price is given the appropriate functionality (I did not want a wireless computer)
Reason for buying the BC 16.12
- Was very happy with the BC 1609
The speedometer is very thoughtful, reliable, with me completely waterproof (year-round use, parking mostly outdoors), has all the features I need (and some that I do not need). Moreover, it looks elegant and not disturbing. At the service have to get used though but is then no longer a problem. I particularly like that all the settings via the four keys can be reached (ie no small holes on the back, which can be operated only with pen). The lighting can be natural "blind" switch. The temperature display is relatively accurate (when driving in full sun), only slight drawback is that below -10 Celsius (lower limit) still "-10" appears (and does not indicate "off limit" or so). So for a winter break in Siberia probably not recommended)
When BC 1609 the battery was now after two years and about 20000 km Net (the speedometer makes a compromising attention without the normal function). Here came for me the (well-documented) nice surprise: After battery replacement, all settings were (total km-power, time, wheel size, ...) up at the clock there. Very convenient.
What would I possibly want is that the default display (which appears when you move the wheel for the first time) can be adjusted (for example, I would like that the temperature and not the daily distance would appear). But this is really a small thing.
Small note: To use the speedometer for two wheels you need a special mount from Sigma (whereby the cadence measurement is possible - I have one of the two wheels).
