Had Well, bad luck ...
First of the coat does not fit as closely as one would expect with a protection which is specially made for a microphone type from the same manufacturer. It fits okay, but just okay, and you have to help with cable ties so that it is flush right in the end.
Then the hair is veeeery long, which makes the use of the camera difficult - but okay, I'll go through, it said yes not that the thing was suitable for camera microphones. I had to cut something to get hair-free images in any case with the hair scissors.
The windshield of the fur is okay, you can not expect more I think of as a simple fur, but (here comes the big BUT):
The tone sounds awful through the coat on! The heights are completely filtered out, the sound is dull and just awful. I had the first prolonged use in section as often as possible on the built-in camera microphone recourse (whose sound is always recorded fortunately in the PMW-200) because the NTG-1 with Deadcat just sounded so awful. And I'm from the Rode NTG-1 actually very convinced that this is an extremely good directional microphone!
Here one makes the sound with the Deadcat totally broken!
For comparison, I now have a Rycote Special Windjammer bought 155 mini - the product has a similar structure, but the hair is shorter and the inside fabric seemingly thin / fine. Priced there is minimal expensive than the Deadcat.
The windscreen when Rycote is approximately on the same level, but the sound of the microphone is not as strongly affected!
My conclusion therefore: Rode makes good and cheap microphones, but when one engages Fellschutz better Rycote, who seem to be able the better. At least with these simple stall skins.
