Not for the Frickel Group thus: AUTUMN SYMPHONY relies entirely on atmosphere. In sprawling, big staged solos or almost impenetrable complexity you will wait in vain.
Nevertheless, the musicians beside Mellotron, Mini Moog, guitar, piano, bass and drums also indicate for rock music, more unusual instruments such as trumpet, oboe, flute or bagpipes their skills.
Far from shallow New Age sounds unfolds as 9 tracks 41:39 minutes and an ideal soundtrack for overcast, misty autumn day. As a rough musical clues may be mentioned here the Italians CELESTE and the very early GENESIS (TRESPASS).
Particular praise is due to the production. This is fortunately very dynamic and powerful, at all times transparent.
The presentation is lovely: the CD comes in a folding mini-LP sleeve therefore, a 12-page booklet contains the credits to all tracks.
The status of a masterpiece, I do not want to write the album, however. There I'm missing something about the outstanding, brilliant and emotionally profound moments.
Nevertheless, all around good thing, for all those who like sometimes like it more tranquil.
