No Need to Be Downhearted (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The southern English Brighton has been so produced some celebrities: The Kooks were founded in Brighton. Likewise, the Levellers and British Seapower. Thanks Fatboy Slim Brighton is even considered founding city of the Big Beat. A long been known output of the city, but somehow will fit into any English category, is with a new album No Need To Be Downhearted on the market recently. The Electric Soft Parade, consisting of the brothers Alex and Tom White, mixing indie with slight Elektronika, change the tempo, even the styles mid-song. In short, they make complex music, artfully arranged, with a lot of sensitivity, a quiet melancholy voice and full-bodied, almost philosophical texts. Great ballads can be found on the disk, about Shore Song and Secrets, between Seventies-bonds either mutate uu ballads grow into Brit-pop numbers, or just suddenly unexpectedly spacey drift. Not necessarily the big hit potential, but an interesting and successful mix and especially change from the Kooks, Oasis and other excesses of the Emerald Isle.
