Coldplay wanted to work with her third X & Y the big hit land, which seems also to succeed commercially. The album sold in any case perfectly and established the band finally in the rock Olympus. Downright olympic then is also the sound of the record, who kills with a synth carpets outright. Here, however (Everything's Not Lost or GreenEyes see) the first two albums was the vulnerable, fragile moment (see Trouble or The Scientist) but also the ease completely neglected. X & Y seems artificial to ambitious convulsively. Martin indulges occasionally in unbearable kitsch and imitates his idols U2 after. Nothing against U2, U2 but should be allowed to make their own plates and Coldplay not create counterfeits of it. In general, it is remarkable how much Coldplay are currently praised to the skies, even though they openly admit to plagiarism. How has betimes made for Oasis to sow ... Nevertheless, some of the songs on X & Y do to please (eg Fix You and the hidden track Til Kingdom Come). However, it is to be hoped that Coldplay do not further in this direction of "bombastic Pops", as the great newspaper has described it very nicely developed, there has stagnated and stiffened. Two stars
