This CD is unquestionably a standard work of music historians. John Coltrane's interpretations and compositions of 1964 are exceptional. A kind Flowerpower slice of Jazzes that meets the feeling of the '68 generation to the point and so actually 3, was 4 years ahead of time. Coltrane is heard clearly over the music and make your bed into it, sometimes playful lyrical, ever verquert aggressive, sometimes gently then slide. In my opinion, the best disc of Coltrane, who unfortunately passed away much too early. The music is from the excellent band, consisting of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones.
