I'll start with the pros and cons:
Pros:
+ Unused Setting and crazy image of hell, in general the design is very good
+ Interesting characters and funny dialogues, Johnson and Garcia harmonize well together
+ A lot of humor and constant ambiguity
+ Coherent, good graphics. A fireworks as Uncharted 3, it is not, but I find them despite a few quirks well and especially to Game Works
+ Very creative world and Gegnervielfältigkeit
+ Lots of crazy ideas and nice touches (books, posters, etc.)
+ The level design is indeed schlauchig (but who cares? CoD, RE5, Uncharted etc. there are but also), but very varied, because constantly new game elements / environments / enemies are introduced
+ Worn weapons that can be upgraded and thus attain meaningful and tactically interesting new skills
+ The new skills of weapons must be used consistently because they occur eg in puzzles
+ Ordinary Time (on hard 10 hours. If you look for the red diamond)
+ Impressive Boss Battles
+ The game element of darkness is constantly expanding, thus remains interesting and does not wear off
+ Very good soundtrack
+ Good Finish
Cons:
- Textures need frequently, until they are loaded
- The control acts stiff (but worlds better and more dynamic than in RE5)
- Some ideas are not perfectly implemented (eg 2D sidescrolling sections = at times trial and error)
- The story is not particularly complex (me but still well kept happy)
Put the grouse-points with the BigBoner act -
- Cutscenes can not be skipped in some places you have to see this with every death
- Even on the hardest difficulty no special challenge
- After passing games, there is nothing more to be discovered and no higher difficulty
My Conclusion:
Shadows of the Damned has a lot of fun to me. The game has good gameplay and can also by the end come up with new ideas / game elements (not like in other games, where you have already seen everything after the first half). I liked the level design also liked me and it bothers at all, that you just walk through "hoses". This is ultimately not a RPG and not GTA. What do people expect? This game is basically RE5 with better control, crazy setting, abwechslungreicherem gameplay, not quite as bombastic graphics and smaller design quirks. Mich have disturbed the Contras of game not great, only the control was not optimal in hectic situations. Unfortunately, there is by playing through no incentive insert the game one more time. Still a great game, I'm happy to have played it. It offers lots of crazy and cool ideas and very solid gameplay. Who is looking for a crazy, bloody and very good 3rd person shooter should buy anyway.
